Michael Veith lwas a student worker for Prof. Dr. Volker Wulf at the University of Siegen in the field of cooperations- and media systems from 01/2004 to 03/2006. Since 2006 he is employed at the Institute for Information Systems and New Media as a ph.d student. There he works on topics related to social and organizational changes in society which are stimulated by the use of novel information and communication technologies.

He studied english linguistics, psychologies and informatics (Magister) at der the University of Siegen. His master thesis dealt especially with the question of how ethnic minorities in Germany may be better integrated into society by the help of computer supported cooperative project work. These projects at an elementary school are furthermore realized by mixing generations (parents with children) as well as socio-cultural backgrounds.

Scientifically he works in two projecs: First in the project *WIN *(knowledge management in heterogeneously nets) in Frankfurt. In this project the 'Fachverband Landtechnik' in the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbauer - German Engineering Federation) is exemplarily researched, how knowledge can be technicaly interconected and make transparent for participants. This research is done in focus of a better service for the involked members/firms.

Secondly in the project *come_IN *in the Marienschool in the old town of Bonn. In this School there is a Computer Club for primary pupils and the parents of them. Especially there are turks in the old town adressed, to cooperate in the club and realise together an intercultural project at the computer. On this way barriers between the german and the turkish citizens should be reduced and a common identity of the citizens in the old town of Bonn can be build (immigrant (sub-)cultures).
